Day Shade is a creative content studio focused on digital-first storytelling
Day Shade was created around a simple belief: great work doesn’t need to be complicated — it needs space, trust, and the right people in the room.
Digital by design.
We’re a digital-first company because that’s where real life happens now. Most brands aren’t showing up on TV — they’re showing up in feeds, on websites, in emails, in stories, every single day. So we don’t build work for a 30-second spot and then retrofit it for the internet.
We build for digital from the start.
That means stills and motion captured side by side. Nimble productions designed to move fast and make more. Every shoot is built to create a deep well of content — not just one hero piece — so brands leave with months of momentum, not one moment.

Day Shade was founded by Paul Welch after more than a decade inside traditional agency life — leading productions, building content practices, and partnering with brands like Nike, Google, and Microsoft along the way. After years of working inside big systems, he set out to create something smaller, more nimble, and more personal. Today, Paul leads Day Shade hands-on — shaping the creative, building tight senior teams, and working directly with clients to craft thoughtful, digital-first work that feels human and built to last.
